Limbic and olfactory cortical circuits in focal seizures
2023, Neurobiology of DiseaseChronic effects of different quercetin doses in penicillin-induced focal seizure model
2021, Neuroscience LettersCitation Excerpt :In seizure control of patients with epilepsy, it is important to reduce interictal discharges. In an experimental epilepsy model induced by K + channel blocker 4-aminopiridin (4AP), it was shown that some anti-seizure medications could eliminate ictal discharges but did not affect interictal discharges [47]. The same study showed that anti-seizure medications could reduce interictal activity only in high doses.
7,8-Dihydroxyflavone potentiates ongoing epileptiform activity in mice brain slices
2019, Neuroscience LettersCitation Excerpt :In this study, we used 4-Aminopyridine (4AP) to induce spontaneous epileptiform activity in hippocampus and entorhinal cortex of mice brain in vitro. 4AP is a potent convulsant which induces epileptiform activity in the hippocampal [21] and cortical slices in vitro [22,23]. In this study we recorded epileptiform activities in entorhinal cortex-hippocampal slice preparations in which 4AP induced fast interictal discharges and in some slices long lasting ictal discharges in line with previous findings [22–24].
