In a follow up paper, Mittelstaedt (1996) discusses a pilot study that utilized lower body positive pressure (45 mmHg administered via a shock suit) in order to examine the impact of the cardiovascular system on “somatic graviception”. It was found that positive pressure nullified the impact of the legs being bent while on a tilt-board.
