In 1994, neurotropic Rabies virus (a single-stranded negative sense non-segmented RNA virus) was successfully rescued via RG in 1994 [43] on the basis of the genome sequence of attenuated vaccine strain SAD B19 [44]. This is the first RG reported in a negative RNA virus.
